Why does the app ask me for location and activity access in the background?

We want to give our users a frictionless hands-free experience, where they can simply put the phone in their pocket and start enjoying the walk and the conversation.
Feeting has to be running to log your steps and measure your distance in real-time. You don’t need Feeting to be live and displayed on your screen, but Feeting does have to be running in the background to count your steps.
If Feeting is disabled by your phone, steps and distance will be lost during the time that Feeting isn’t able to run and check that motion information.
